Jawaharlal Nehru College Central library which is the heart of the college was established in 1964. It is well equipped library, centrally located with open access system and does provide right impetus for the intellectual growth of the students, teachers, research scholars and other around. The library is situated in the 1st floor of the Administrative building with 4752 Square feet floor area. The Central library has a collection of 26000+printed books and subscriptions to 11 printed journals, 10 newspapers, and 09 magazines. It has 3000+ reference books for its users and a good collection of rare books and manuscripts. The bookshelves are arranged department-wise and books are arranged subject-wise. The library has a collection of Minor and Major Research Project Reports, Ph.D. Thesis and College Magazines. Jawaharlal Nehru College Central library has a reading room with a 130+ seating capacity for library users.

There is a separate air conditioning reading area for the faculty members and students of the college. The library is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on all working days.UG students can borrow 3 books for 15 days, PG students can borrow 4 books for 15 days, faculties can borrow 10 books for 180 days and other staff can borrow 6 books for 180 days. There is a library advisory committee and the committee takes important decisions related to the library. The library orientation program is carried out for new students in which details about the library collection, services, timing, and doubts of students if any are cleared.
ILMS in the Library: Jawaharlal Nehru College Central Library is fully automated with Integrated Library Management System (ILMS) named SOUL 2.0. SOUL 2.0 has been installed in the library since 2014 through which circulation work of the library has been started by using bar code in the students’ integrated identity card cum library card.
Barcode Attendance System: Barcode-based attendance system for both students and staff are placed at the library entrance to know the number of users visiting the library.
Searching through OPAC: Since the library is fully automated, the holdings of the library can be searched using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
Digital Library Section: The library has set up an Institutional Repository (IR) by using D-Space digital library software where college publications, question paper of previous years, rare books and reports are kept in digitized form. The repository can be accessible over library LAN and library wi fi.
Recently the library has initiated the process of remote access of its electronic resources by providing a link of digital repository in the college website (http://jnc.digitallibrary.co.in/)
Membership of E-Contents: Jawaharlal Nehru College Central Library is an active member of INFLIBNET centre and NLIST consortia. The users can access 1,99,500+ E-books and 6000+ E-journals available in the N-LIST database and 6,00,000+ E-books through NDLI.
The entire library complex in wifi enabled. Users can use internet facility in the digital library. The all computer systems are equipped with power back facility available through online UPS system (5 KVA).
The library offers various services to its users like automated circulation of books, Online public access catalogue(OPAC), Reprography, library orientation, book bank facility for poor and differently able students. C.C. cameras are installed inside the library for strict surveillance.
